Along a hiking trail of 350 kilometres in total you follow the gentian symbol of the Salzburger Almenweg through the mountain landscape – from the Lower and Higher Tauern to the Bischofsmütze and to the Hochkönig. In 31 stages you experiece unforgettable impressions, unspoilt nature and of course 120 "Salzburg Alpine Summer Huts" with their typical alpine charm, with hearty specialities and genuine hospitality. At each alpine summer hut you receive a stamp on your Almenweg walking map. Walk for your gentian walking badge: an incentive and at the same time a souvenir. For 5 destinations you receive the gentian in bronze, for ten silver. If you manage 20 stages you'll be rewarded with gold and for all 31 stages you become the proud owner of a diamond gentian walking badge.
