We were just in the midst of the summer season and now the year’s almost coming to an end. Do you always find yourself thinking in November: "Where has the time gone?"
The days are getting shorter, it's wet, cold and grey, and this gets on some people's nerves.
But with the following 5 tips, I'll tell you how to keep in good spirits.
My motto or tip for the 11th month of the year is: take a moment just for you - and time to slow down! Admittedly, November is my favourite month. After all, what better time to calm down than when nature is calm? Go for a long walk and walk mindfully through nature. Slow down your usual pace and consciously take in the individual impressions. Open your eyes, because nature is full of wonders!

And if the weather doesn't play along, you can spend the day cosily at home on the sofa without a guilty conscience. 😉
I always have fond memories of my childhood, especially in the run-up to Christmas. When the logs crackle quietly in the fireplace, it's cosy and warm in the living room and the sweet smell of hot apples, sugar, cinnamon and nuts fills your nose, then it's that time again - the pre-Christmas season has begun. Just as snow is part of winter, baked apples are part of Advent for me.

Ingredients for approx. 4 portions:
1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
2. For the filling, peel, core and chop two apples. Melt the butter in a pan. Sauté the apples over a medium heat for approx. 8-10 minutes. Halfway through, add the sugar and allow to caramelise.
3. For the crumble, mix the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, white sugar, salt and cinnamon. Add the chilled butter in flakes and mix with two forks or your hands until you have a crumbly mixture.
4. Cut the tops off the remaining apples and set aside. Remove the core and flesh with a spoon. Fill 2/3 of the hollowed-out apples with caramelised apple pieces and cover with crumble. Bake in a hot oven for approx. 20 minutes.
5. Serve the baked apples with vanilla sauce. Tip: If you like, add a dollop of mascarpone on top just before serving.
Yoga is also a great way to switch off. What's more, yoga offers numerous benefits for body and mind. It promotes both relaxation and physical strengthening. Regular practice improves flexibility and inner balance. Even if you don't lift any weights or cover any kilometres - yoga still makes you really fit, healthy, happy and relaxed!

Mother Hulda has been busy in Salzburger Land and the landscape was already covered in white splendour at the beginning of November. No wonder that many a household has already been transformed into a Christmas bakery. In addition to vanilla crescents, Linzer eyes and coconut biscuits, this year I'm making my beloved orange and chocolate biscuits. Make yourselves comfortable, put on your favourite Advent playlist and then the biscuit baking can begin! Ready, steady, bake!
Mix the flour with the cornflour and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, orange zest, egg and butter. Cut the chocolate into small pieces and add to the remaining ingredients. Mix everything well with a mixer. Then work the dough into a smooth dough on the work surface and shape into rolls about 3 cm thick. Wrap the dough rolls in cling film and place in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. Then remove the dough from the cling film and cut into approx. 1 cm slices and place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake the biscuits at approx. 170-200° C for approx. 10 minutes.
And the delicious biscuits are ready! 😉

Culinary Advent Evening
Culinary delights are a top priority in the mountain village of Filzmoos. A culinary round trip to a unique 10-course Advent menu with brass music, carol singers, perchten and a horse-drawn sleigh ride takes place on Thursday 7th December from 5:00 pm.
After last year's success, the event is already fully booked for this year. So if you can't make it this year, I recommend that you make a note of the date for next year 😉.

Various Filzmoos music groups - such as the Filzmooser Saitenkreis, the ladies' choir Chorissima and the Tennbruck'n Musi - will get you in the mood for Christmas on Saturday, 9th December 2023 at 5:00 pm. Storyteller Markus Herrmann will get you in the Christmas spirit with contemplative tales.
Cosy Advent in “Farmer’s Snug“ at the Oberhof
On Tuesday, 12th December 2023, a cosy Advent hour with readings of Advent stories and poems will take place in the "Bauernstube" at the Oberhof. There will be musical accompaniment from the Filzmooser Saitenkreis.
Winter.Delight.Night by filzmoos.ski
There will be a special pleasure premiere this year on 15 December at the Winter Pleasure Night powered by filzmoos.ski. It starts at 5.00 pm with the evening gondola ride to the summit aperitif. Enjoy the enchanting scenery and get in the mood for an unforgettable evening. Admission to the winter tent at the Papageno valley station from 6:00 pm. After a welcome drink, the culinary winter wonderland begins - a 6-course menu prepared by top young chefs from Filzmoos. A speciality journey full of creativity and of course accompanied by exquisite wines.
Gerry & Gary, Munich's No. 1 party act, and Rusty, the incomparable Elvis tribute artist, will provide the acoustic backdrop.
