“Panorama Link“- cable car opens up a new dimension

The Salzburger Sportwelt with its internationally known holiday resorts of Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St. Johann, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben and Filzmoos comprises the winter centrepiece of the Ski amadé. Austria’s largest ski area association scores with 760 kilometres of pistes, state-of-the-art ski lifts, snow parks and an unbeatable wealth of adventures for the whole family. From winter 2020/21 the new, spectacular Panorama Link cable car enables the connection of the Salzburger Sportwelt resorts Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St. Johann and Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. The cable car runs below the mountain ridge between Griessenkar and Mooskopf at an altitude of around 1,8000 m and during the eight-minute journey offers – as its name promises – fabulous views of the Niedere and Hohe Tauern.

“12 Peaks Trophy“ – the new winter sports adventure covering 12 peaks

With the new Panorama Link cable car winter sports enthusiasts have access to 210 connected, well-prepared and snow-sure kilometres of pistes, which can be conquered in “one go“ as it were from the St. Johann district Alpendorf to  Zauchensee. The “12 Peaks Trophy“ promises on around 91,5 kilometres a good 10,000 vertical metres of pure downhill pleasure amid a scenic mountain backdrop. All peaks to be conquered lie at an altitude of around 2,000 m. Those absolving the tour in a single day, receive the black trophy as a reward, those needing two days are handed the red trophy. Those winter guests needing three days or until the end of the season receive the blue trophy as a souvenir.  Tracking functions via Skiline, a uniform piste direction system serves as orientation. The four black pistes can be detoured, so that the circular tour is skiable for families with children.

The Salzburger Sportwelt encompasses the eight holiday resorts of Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St. Johann-Alpendorf, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben and Filzmoos and makes up the winter centrepiece of the Ski amadé. This is, with its 760 km of pistes, 270 lift facilities, 25 ski and snowboard schools and over 120 ski huts, Austria’s largest ski destination.

The winter season 2020/21 in the Salzburger Sportwelt starts at the beginning of December. You’ll find detailed information regarding lift opening times plus Covid-19 measures in resort at: www.salzburgersportwelt.com or www.skiamade.com/corona
