The 7 best places to enjoy breakfast in the Salzburger Sportwelt

Salt stick rolls, sesame weckerl (type of roll), and sourdough bread. The bread selection alone makes me feel like an emperor at the first meal of the day. That’s just right, isn’t it? Because, as the saying goes, we’re supposed to eat breakfast like an emperor, lunch like a king, and dine like a beggar. So, it’s a good thing that there’s a colourful mix of great places to have breakfast in the Salzburger Sportwelt.

Create your own breakfast buffet at Emastoa in Flachau

Hearty or sweet? Classic or elaborate? Waffles or cake? At Emastoa you put together your own “breakfast buffet” – they offer breakfast à la carte. It’s like a modular system: many small dishes smile at me from the menu. I decide on an egg in a glass, a pretzel roll and ham. And a waffle with berries. Or would you prefer the croissant? And the beef tartare? Psssst. I’ll just taste my boyfriend’s as he’ll probably treat himself to the beef tartare.

Tasteful ambience, tasteful food. The Emastoa in Flachau is an (insider)tip for breakfast in the Salzburger Sportwelt.

Away from the fast pace of life to relaxing hours – breakfast at the Lärchenhof in Kleinarl

This is the motto of the Lärchenhof in Kleinarl. And you can feel it at breakfast. The breakfast buffet enchants us with homemade jam, organic and wholemeal products and fragrant cake. The natural sourdough bread is my breakfast highlight at the Lärchenhof. With a spicy spread and an egg. Do you need anything more for a perfect start to the day? Yes, perhaps a croissant 😊.

Tasty, organic and regional. At the Lärchenhof in Kleinarl you feel the love oozing into the food. Exactly how to start your day as a breakfast.

Breakfast heaven in JoSalzburg: deck7

Breakfast gourmet paradise on the roof – at deck7 you are truly in heaven. On the 7th floor, the view is almost better than the breakfast. Although…

No. The combination makes it perfect. The buffet plays all the (early) pieces. Plus, freshly prepared egg dishes. You have a choice of toppings: hollandaise sauce, herb salad, Pongau bacon, tomato croutons, smoked trout, onions, cheese, ham, peppers. Have I got your mouth watering?

It’s allowed. The deck7 in JoSalzburg is a special place to have breakfast in the Salzburger Sportwelt.

The art of coffee for breakfast in the City Lounge in Radstadt

“Nothing works without coffee.” For the hosts of the City Lounge, it’s unimaginable to live life without coffee. That’s why they rely on aromatic and flavourful coffee. Admittedly. I am not a coffee lover. Nevertheless, my cousin is happy that she can really let off steam with this elixir of life. And yes, she likes it 😊.

I treat myself to a juicy piece of cake, yoghurt with fruit and a cup of organic herbal tea. And a glass of homemade lemonade makes it onto my breakfast table.

The City Lounge in Radstadt is the coffee-lover’s place to meet in the Salzburger Sportwelt.

Alpine breakfast at the Sulzenalmen in Filzmoos

Fragrant alpine bread, fresh farmer’s butter and chives. At the Wallehenhütte and the Krahlehenhütte at the foot of the Rettenstein, breakfast tastes even better than in the valley. What’s the reason for that? No idea.

Somehow everything tastes better up on the alpine pastures. The bread feels much stronger than in the valley. The butter flirts with my taste buds. Every sip of tea fills me with happiness. My friends claim that the coffee is also better in the alpine pastures. Well, I can’t agree with that. But such an alpine breakfast is really something special.

New in Eben: Café Philu

Brand new and an insider tip: Café Philu on Eben’s Dorfplatz. The delicious breakfast variations go down like hot cakes. And the cakes and tarts anyway. Is it actually forbidden if I treat myself to frozen yoghurt for breakfast? I compensate with hot tea 😊.

Café Philu in Eben makes it onto my list for breakfast in the Salzburg Sportwelt with its homemade delicacies.

All-day breakfast at the Café Haidl in Altenmarkt

Have you ever wondered why breakfast is only served until noon? You can have breakfast all day long! That’s exactly what the hosts at Café Haidl in Altenmarkt think – they serve breakfast all day long. And they offer breakfast boxes to take away! A breakfast treat to take home, mmmh.

I’m really keen on the warm porridge. The fresh berries tickle my palate, and the cereal with milk will keep me full for a long time. Okay, I admit it. I can’t quite get past the deliciously smiling cakes from the in-house pastry shop. I treat myself to a slice and feel the delicacy slowly melting on my tongue…

Café Haidl in Altenmarkt is definitely a spot on my breakfast list for the Salzburger Sportwelt.
