The Alpendorf cable car takes you up to the Geisterberg (Ghost Mountain) and the Grafenbergbahn (link) in Wagrain makes the ascent to Wagrainis Grafenberg child's play.In addition to the adventure worlds "Flori's Adventure Trail" in Flachau, Wagraini’s Grafenberg in Wagrain and the Geisterberg in St. Johann/Alpendorf, a trip to Snow Space Salzburg is also ideal for an enjoyable day of hiking. We would now like to introduce you to a tour of the Griessenkar hiking mountain in more detail.

Circular hike to the Griessenkar

For today we have chosen an easy circular hike to the Griessenkareck. The tour is ideal for families and beginners and is easy to complete in just under 2 hours. We decide to conquer the first metres of our hike with the Starjet 1 and 2 chairlifts in Flachau and admire the view during the ascent. When we change from Starjet 1 to Starjet 2, we pass the first mountain hut. The sight of the traditional delicacies directly increases our motivation for the upcoming hike, as those who hike diligently deserve proper refreshment ;).

But first, we get hiking: from the Starjet 2 mountain station, we take a forest road up to the Starjet 3 mountain station, or rather the Flying Mozart cable car, which incidentally also serves as a great starting point for the circular hike. We continue along trail no. 41, past the warrior's cross with a short stop at the photo point - such a day on the mountain must be captured. The summit cross is already in sight and comes closer with every step. Towards the end, concentration and stamina are once again required to conquer the last stretch to the summit. However, the efforts of the last few metres are rewarded by the view of the surrounding Salzburg mountains from the 1,991-metre summit.

After enjoying the view and the warm rays of the sun for some time and regaining our strength, we make our way back. Before we head back down to the valley, we have a well-deserved snack of traditional Pongau delicacies. This is how to end a day on the mountain.

TIP: The Grafenberg and the Geisterberg also offer great tours for all hiking levels. If you want to save a little money in the process, you can secure an Early Bird hiking ticket in advance via the ticket shop and get to the mountain by 9.30 am at the latest.
