Flachau’s favourite circular walk, that leaves no wishes unfulfilled

This beautifully arranged circular walk, near the resort centre, leading mostly through forest and past blooming meadows, has been popular for many years now. However, it has been ravaged by time and the past harsh winter has also left its mark. Therefore in the past few weeks many helping hands have completely renovated, extended and newly-signposted the popular themed path. And so I’d now like to recommend the “new“ path of good wishes warmly to you.

“I wish you strength, go through life with your eyes wide open“

Just a little way above the Parish Church in Flachau you’ll find the starting point, for what is for me, one of the most beautiful circular tours in the Flachau Valley. A curved wooden arch as a doorway signalises the start of the tour, leading to the start of my walk through a wonderful, light conifer forest. The lovingly-created new wooden signs with good wishes, prompt me to discover small and large beauties of nature and ensure a comforting feeling of well-being. “I wish you lightness. Make yourself comfy and send your worries up to heaven. They should move on like clouds”. Simply beautiful!

The green of the trees, ferns, blueberry bushes and mosses also radiate a feeling of peace and pure life whilst I stroll along, almost lost in thought, in the shade of the forest. The ancient giant tree, which I hug, conveys a feeling of security and calm. “I wish you energy, close your eyes, hug the tree and feel new strength.“
I carry on and the forest thins out, I savour the view. Just before the Triglbauer, I turn off to the right. My tour now leads me once again through the pleasantly shady forest just before the Sattelbauer, where I reach the idyllically situated chapel. I stop here for a short while and enjoy the view of the Dachstein mountain range. Of course a refreshment stop is not to be missed and so I take a break on the terrace of the Berggasthof Sattelbauer, before undertaking the descent back to Flachau.
Arriving back at the starting point, I discover a metal box. I open it curiously and take out the “Wish Book”. I take up the invitation and enter my own heartfelt wishes. Maybe they’ll come true.
