Do you want to really enjoy your skiing days right from the start? Then prepare yourself and your equipment like a pro!
● Are you fit for the slopes? If you want to make the most of your skiing days, it's important to know and train your fitness and body awareness. If you regularly take part in sporting activities such as cycling, running, hiking, Nordic walking or training in the gym, you will build up a good basic level of fitness for your winter skiing. This will protect you from injury and make your on-piste and off-piste adventures more fun.
Tip: You can find great videos about ski gymnastics on YouTube that you can do at home. Sports clubs and ski clubs in your area also offer appropriate ski preparation courses. A trial training session is always worthwhile, for acquiring new ideas or new ski buddies!
● Check your equipment! As the days get colder, it's high time to dust off your ski equipment after the summer break. Your skis and boards should now be freshly waxed, the edges sharpened, and the binding settings checked. Or have them checked and repaired at a professional ski service centre in Zauchensee.
Make sure that your ski boots, ski goggles, helmet, gloves and clothing are free from defects or breakages and fit youwell. You can find detailed tips on checking your ski equipment here.
Tip: For children, a size check of skis and ski boots is important - if in doubt, it's best to hire suitable skis or boards for your kids on site in order to find out the right length/size. The ski rental shops in Zauchensee and Flachauwinkl are happy to provide you and your family with trial equipment.
What makes your skiing experience in Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl so special?
Quite simply: perfectly groomed slopes, soft powder slopes from December to Easter and the extra portion of skiing fun in the heart of Ski amadé thanks to the connection to Snow Space Salzburg via Flachauwinkl. 12 peaks, 5 valleys and 210 kilometres of slopes from Zauchensee to Alpendorf are waiting to be conquered by you.
If you are looking for an extra challenge, the new 12 Peaks Trophy is waiting for you: Can you manage 12 peaks in one day of skiing?
Funslopes, family parks, Zauchi's Kinderland, photo points, ski movie race tracks, and a colourful programme of fun and events ensure skiing fun away from the slopes from December to March.
The highlight, however, is the International Ski World Cup in Zauchensee: on the 13th and 14th of January 2024, top international ski racers such as Lara Gut-Behrami, Mikaela Shiffrin and Federica Brignone will compete in the downhill and super-G speed disciplines on the Gamskogel. A must-attend event for real World Cup fans! Be there live and join in the excitement: Ski World Cup Zauchensee.
A special experience in the run-up to Christmas is the "Mountain Lake.Advent" Christmas market on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of December 2023 around the Zauchensee Lake with magical light and sound installations, Advent music, regional crafts and culinary specialities.
In spring, events such as the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week, the Atomic X-Perience Ladies Day and Europe's biggest children's ski race, the Kids Trophy, provide plenty of variety.
Enjoy your winter ski season in Zauchensee!
We look forward to seeing you!
