It was 2018 when Catharina Lackner and Maria-Luise Fosstveit had the spontaneous idea to open a bridal shop in Altenmarkt in Salzburg's Pongau region while on holiday. It had always been a big dream of the sisters to open a shop together. Today, "Brautboutique Lilee" is one of the best bridal salons in Austria. Brides-to-be are enchanted with the most beautiful wedding dresses in a very special atmosphere between tulle, champagne and tears. In the truest sense of the word, wedding dress dreams come true here!
“Lilee" is a project close to the sisters' hearts: Luise comes from the aviation business and now lives with her family in Bahrain and works in the back office. Catharina runs "Lilee". She has a background in tourism, which is why customer-orientation is Catharina's top priority.
"We live and feel with every bride," Catharina enthuses about her profession. And that's how they always manage to find the bride's dream dress when they know the bride's individual story.
Speaking of trends: what will brides be wearing in 2024? In any case, the motto will be individuality, modern elegance and sustainability. There will be an exciting mix of timeless styles and innovative designs, including ball gowns, mermaid dresses, trouser suits and jumpsuits. While ivory (off-white) is still the predominant colour, after Queen Victoria first brought the 'white wedding' into fashion in the mid-19th century, bold designers are now experimenting with coloured dresses. Rosé, blue and lavender are gaining popularity - they add a refreshing touch to bridal fashion. Sustainability is reflected in environmentally friendly materials and fair production practices. The vintage look remains a perennial favourite and ranges from romantic lace dresses to retro accessories that are skilfully incorporated into modern styles. Whether colourful dresses, sustainable choices or vintage elements, opulent designs or modern minimalism, the main thing is that the dress emphasises the bride's natural beauty and allows for versatile styling.
What every bride should know: Catharina and her team take a lot of time for you to find the dress of your dreams. Of course, this requires an appointment - preferably eight months before the wedding. After the fitting, the dress is customised to order and is ready for collection around five months later.
Now, of course, we are interested in how the sisters themselves got married. Luise got married to a pilot from Sweden and celebrated for three days: a very small and elegant civil ceremony with the family on the mountain and a church wedding in the Franciscan Church in Salzburg. She chose a short Audrey Hepburn dress for the registry office and wore a princess-style model in the church. And Catharina, which look did she choose? Catharina got married in a beautiful soft tulle dress by Rosa Clara with an infinite train on a mountain pasture in Wagrain.
Incidentally, bridal boutique Lilee has been honoured twice with the Wedding Award. They can also be seen again and again on VOX in "Zwischen Tüll und Tränen" (Say yes to the dress). So, switch on!
