Get active at the Sports Centre in Radstadt

There are two types of guests on holiday. Some simply want to switch off and relax in the swimming pool or in one of our cosy guest gardens. Others want to experience something new every day. I am a mixture of both, but tend to favour the more active guests. In summer, we often get the following question from guests: ‘What can you do in Radstadt apart from hiking and cycling?’. I have the perfect answer: ‘Check out the sports centre just north of the town wall.´

Mini golf

Ever since I was a child, I have loved it every time my mum said to me: ‘Selina, let's go and play mini golf’. On the way to the mini golf course in Radstadt, I always hoped to win. I was never particularly good at the game, but I still enjoy it to this day. The mini golf course has 18 holes with varying degrees of difficulty. Guests from Radstadt can use this mini golf course free of charge every day with the Salzburger Sportwelt Card. Guests from other towns or locals can also use the mini golf course every day for a small entrance fee. PS: A little tip from me, for the 18th and therefore last hole, it's better to play the ball twice, then you'll hit the ball into the hole faster!

Tennis

Attention tennis fans: Did you know that there are seven tennis courts at the Radstadt sports centre? You're guaranteed to enjoy the game! Exciting tennis tournaments take place here every year, where you can join in the excitement as a spectator. If you would like to swing a racket yourself, you also have the opportunity to do so - simply call Mr Harald Neumayer and book a court. Have fun with your first serve - and maybe even your first victory here in Radstadt!

Beach volleyball

Fancy some sun, sand and sport? Then head to the beach volleyball court! Here you can get into the holiday mood - ideal for a brisk game with friends or a bit of action after hiking or cycling. Our two beach volleyball courts are highly recommended for guests and locals who enjoy ball sports. So, grab your volleyball-loving friends or family members and see which team hits the ball last. PS: Please bring your own ball for the game 😉

Skaterpark

Have you ever stood on a skateboard? I tried it once and after an estimated 10 seconds, I fell to the ground and the board went on without me.
Even though skating isn't really my thing, I still enjoy watching the skaters at the skater park in Radstadt as they perform one trick after another. The Radstadt skater park is spread over two levels. The upper level is equipped with fixed concrete obstacles and the lower level with movable obstacles. In addition, the annual Halloween skate session is organised by Blue Tomato. There are also BBQ & chill sessions and a few smaller events every year. The skate park is open to the public, so you can drop by at any time and try out a few tricks yourself. With a skateboard, longboard, scooter or whatever you like 😉

The 2 playgrounds

There are 2 playgrounds for younger (and older) guests in Radstadt, also north of the town wall. One of them is located directly behind the church. Here you can see who can swing higher or climb further up the spider's web. Who can slide down the metre-long slide faster? Those who are really brave can venture onto the Zip Wire. This has always been my favourite! If you want to test your balance, you can use the balancing equipment to see which of you can stay up longer. There are also 2 play towers waiting for you at the playground. On one you can climb up a rope and on the other you can build the biggest sandcastles (please bring your own sand toys). In the meantime, while the children are running around, parents can enjoy the sunshine on the benches, read a book or simply watch their kids run around😉!

Previously, I told you about the playground with the giant spider climbing net. The second playground is right next to the skate park. Here you can play football, tag, badminton and much more on the metre-wide grass area. This playground also has a table tennis table. So, take two rackets and a ball from home and see who is better.

My conclusion:

As you can see, the Radstadt sports centre offers plenty of opportunities to be active outside of hiking and cycling. Whether you want to work off your energy playing tennis, beach volleyball or mini golf, try out cool tricks on a skateboard or simply discover the playgrounds with your children - there is something for every age group and fitness level here.
So, pack your sports gear, grab your family or friends and experience the active side of your holiday. And who knows - you might even discover a new favourite sport!😊
