Freestyle Friday in the Snowpark Alpendorf - action, tricks & lots of fun!

This winter, the Alpendorf Snowpark became the place to be for all freestyle fans and those who want to become one. With the new Freestyle Friday, young winter sports enthusiasts were able to immerse themselves in the world of freestyle every Friday between 31 January and 7 March 2025. Under the professional guidance of local freeski pro Josh Absenger, the young talents were given valuable tips on the basics of the sport - from their first jumps to stylish grabs and 360° turns.

Every Friday, from 10 am to 1 pm, the snow park was transformed into a coaching zone. With kickers, rails and boxes of various levels of difficulty, the Snowpark Alpendorf is ideal for all freestyle enthusiasts. Located right next to the 6-seater Hirschkogel chairlift, the park not only offers a wide variety of lines, but also a FunCross course and a chill area where you can take a breather between runs.

Without any stress, but with plenty of motivation, beginner and advanced freeriders were able to learn and improve their skills during Freestyle Friday. Coach Josh Absenger created a great atmosphere with his relaxed and easy-going manner in which everyone felt comfortable - whether they were newcomers or already experienced on the obstacles. They worked on their technique together, cheering each other on and celebrating tricks together. Not only from the coach, but also from the other participants, who gave helpful tips and tricks on how to improve your own technique.

The safety of the participants and other park visitors was always a major focus during coaching: the most important rules - respect in the park, checking obstacles beforehand and protective equipment such as helmets and back protectors were always at the forefront, so that everyone could try out their own tricks with confidence.

Even though Freestyle Friday is now taking a break, the Snowpark Alpendorf remains a hotspot for all those who love creative lines and cool features. The obstacles, the FunCross course and the parallel slalom are still open until the end of the season - so get going and make the most of the last few weeks of the winter season!
