“At home in the treetops“ - The Adventure Forest in Altenmarkt

Climbing is booming - that's for sure! No wonder that high ropes courses are springing up like mushrooms from the forest floor. But what fascinates young and old alike when they swing from tree to tree at airy heights like Tarzan or balance over moving bridges? Is it overcoming one's own limits, the joy of the thrill, or simply the sublime experience of nature? I wanted to know more and so I went to the Altenmarkt Adventure Forest, to Michaela and Christoph Hölz, the friendly couple who literally brought me "closer" to the beautiful facility in the middle of the forest and very close to the Hochbifang valley station.
Even from a distance, I can hear the happy voices of the children calling out to each other: "This is fun! At the latest now you know that fun and joy await you in the Altenmarkt Adventure Forest. It makes the hearts of children, young people, and adults beat faster. On different levels, climbing fans shimmy from tree to tree, climb bridges and overcome various exercises. Crossing the Zauchbach stream is one of the many highlights of the courses. The three zip wire courses, on the other hand, are already at heights of 4.5 m, 5.5 m, and 9.5 m. The rope slides are a real highlight. Here, the high-flyers whizz from tree to tree, secured several times.
Speaking of safety. It is an important criterion for Michaela and Christoph.  Children from the age of four can experience fun and action here accompanied by their parents. Appropriate equipment is available for this purpose, which I immediately strap on. The entire facility is equipped with the class E-safety system - the highest level for climbing courses. And the best thing is… before the start, everyone gets a theoretical video briefing, followed by a practical safety introduction with the trainer. I understand everything and can climb the course on my own without any effort! By the way - you should have a head for heights if you want to master the climbing courses and rope slides at dizzy heights.
With their Adventure Forest, Michaela and Christoph wanted to move away from heavy exercises and towards easily experienced natural space. I have experienced first-hand that they have succeeded in this with their facility in Altenmarkt. Have I whetted your appetite and you too want to have an adventure in the forest?
