A winter fairytale you can reach out and touch! Have you heard about the the new cross-country ski cabin on the Rossbrand?

The snow-covered trees bear a thick layer of snow. It looks as if they are covered with icing. When the sun kisses the landscape awake in the early hours of the morning, a special atmosphere prevails here on the Rossbrand in Filzmoos. Every single tree becomes a majestic work of art, the sun shines through the branches and lights up the whole forest.
The bright-blue sky forms an almost kitschy contrast to the white blanket of snow. It is freezing cold, but well wrapped up, a winter hike or a lap of cross-country skiing on the high-altitude trail is the ideal leisure activity. The freshly groomed cross-country trail winds through the breathtaking landscape in a playful way. At an altitude of around 1,700 metres, a fantastic panoramic view of over 150 striking alpine peaks is guaranteed in fine weather.

Glittering snow crystals

Snow crystals glisten all around. A breathtaking mountain panorama helps you forget time and space. A high degree of snow reliability guarantees cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or walking on along the high alpine trail until Easter. In addition, visitors can enjoy the cosy charm of the huts, après ski and fine cuisine as well as friendly lift staff. New this winter is a cross-country ski cabin next to the Papageno gondola mountain station. The technologically sophisticated building, offers an information room, changing room, toilets and lockable storage space for all winter sports enthusiasts in the ski area and makes the high-altitude trail a real cross-country skiing El Dorado. A foundation stone for this innovative cross-country ski training base has already been laid with the route connection in summer. It now makes it possible to use different routes (high alpine trail total 16 km, of which 12 km is a red trail and 4 km is a blue trail). Thus, there are trails to suit all ability levels - from beginners to experts as well as for all cross-country skiing styles.

In summary: The high-altitude cross-country ski trail at an altitude of 1,700 metres offers the best conditions for cross-country skiing and is definitely worth a visit! If you don't want to go cross-country skiing, you should hire snowshoes from a sports shop in the village or you can walk to the Radstädter Hütte with sturdy winter footwear.
