Horses have a long tradition in the Salzburger Sportwelt, Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St.Johann, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben and Filzmoos. Filzmoos is well-known far and wide for teams of Noriker, Frisian, Dapple Grey and Haflinger horses. Carriage rides are a particularly romantic and sociable activity. In Altenmarkt-Zauchensee there are five bridle paths stretching a total length of 100 km. The "Dachstein Tauern-Trek" is a 200 km long connected network of bridle paths, that leads up to an altitude of 2,000 m. Farms with horses and riding facilities offer great holiday packages for beginners and sporty riders.
